The areas to the west of Court Street are the most sought after in Carroll Gardens, especially the blocks where the row houses have deep, verdant front yards. It is these gardens from which the neighborhood got its name. The neighborhood’s two commercial streets (Smith & Court) run north and south through its center and are filled with cafes, boutiques and clubs that draw people from outside the neighborhood. Home to Carroll Park, a block-long area of playgrounds, walkways and sitting areas between Court and Smith Streets.
