Ocean Hill is a subsection of Bedford-Stuyvesant, founded in 1890 and received its name for being slightly hilly. The area is endowed with three-story limestones, brownstones and brick buildings, some stripped of architectural detail. Dispersed around the area are rows of new two-family homes, Including the half-acre lot at the intersection of Eastern Parkway and Atlantic Avenue of a $13 million, 41 unit condominium complex by Habitat for Humanity.
The Boundaries: Runs from Van Buren Street in the North to East New York Avenue in the south and from Broadway in the east to Ralph Avenue in the west. The Commute: The area is served by the A,C, J and Z subway lines at Ralph Avenue and Halsey & Gates Streets, respectively.
