Williamsburg is home to a thriving art community and is largely associated with one of its main streets, Bedford Avenue. The neighborhood has been experiencing rapid population growth due to rapid new deveopment of housing and retail. In recent years, Williamsburg has rivaled Manhattan as a home for live music and an incubator for new bands. The area also offers some very fine restaurants that rival those found in Manhattan.
